Where to Find Your CQC Location ID
Your CQC Location ID is the unique reference number for your registered service. This guide shows you three ways to find it in under two minutes.
Your CQC Location ID is a unique number assigned to every care service registered with the Care Quality Commission. It looks like this:
It always starts with 1- followed by nine digits. You will need it to use CQCLogic, to access your inspection reports, and to communicate with CQC about your service.
Quick tip
If you manage multiple locations, each registered service has its own Location ID. Make sure you are using the correct ID for the specific service you want to generate an improvement plan for.
Three Ways to Find Your Location ID
Your CQC registration certificate
Your Location ID is printed on the certificate of registration CQC issued when your service was first registered. It appears in the top section of the certificate next to your service name and address. This is the most reliable source.
Search the CQC website
Go to cqc.org.uk/care-services/registered-services and search for your service by name or postcode. When your service appears in the results, click on it. The Location ID appears in the page URL — it is the number starting with 1- at the end of the address, for example: cqc.org.uk/location/1-123456789
Your most recent CQC inspection report
Open any inspection report published for your service. The Location ID appears in the header section of the report, usually on the first or second page alongside your service name, address, and registered manager details.
Finding Your Location ID on the CQC Website — Step by Step
- Go to cqc.org.uk
- Click Find care services in the main navigation
- Type your service name or postcode in the search box
- Select your service from the results list
- Look at the URL in your browser address bar — the number at the end starting with 1- is your Location ID
- Alternatively, scroll down on your service page — the Location ID appears in the service information section
What If I Cannot Find My Location ID?
If you are having difficulty locating your ID, there are two further options:
- Contact your CQC relationship manager — they can confirm your Location ID by phone or email
- Upload your inspection report PDF instead — CQCLogic can extract your service details directly from the report without needing the Location ID
Using CQCLogic
Once you have your Location ID, enter it on the Get Started page. We will pull your inspection data automatically from the CQC register — no uploading documents, no manual entry. Your improvement plan will be delivered within 24 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my Location ID the same as my provider ID?+
No — they are different. Your provider ID identifies your organisation as a whole. Your Location ID identifies a specific registered service at a specific address. If you have multiple care homes, each has its own Location ID. CQCLogic uses the Location ID for the specific service you want to generate an improvement plan for.
Does my Location ID ever change?+
No — your Location ID stays the same for the lifetime of your registration at that address. It does not change when ownership changes, when a new registered manager is appointed, or when your service is re-inspected. The only time a Location ID changes is if a service closes and re-registers as a new entity.
What if I have not been inspected yet — can I still use CQCLogic?+
Yes. If your service is registered with CQC but has not yet been inspected, you will still have a Location ID. You can enter it and CQCLogic will retrieve your registration information. You can also upload your registration certificate or any CQC correspondence instead.
